MCX Expiry confusion

Is it just me or others struggle with MCX contracts expiry date.
The GOLDM May Futures contract expires on 5 May
While GOLDM May Calls expire on 27 May

How to make sense of this and how to track all of this?

Any help will be appreciated.

 I agree, @Vai_Mat It can get confusing.

Checking expiry date below the Market depth while executing the trade is the only way out for now…

But, we’ll try to do something around this on TradingQnA… We can share the upcoming expiries for all the key commodity contracts. I’ll update this thread once done

In the interim, you may keep a track of expiries for commodity contracts in this google sheet, which is updated regularly.

Thanks

Have you considred including the expiry date in the name of the instrument itself?
Like GOLDM FUT 5JUN25 to make things slightly easier?

And can the expiry information also be added when we click on the instrument in our positions? Currently the expiry information is only visible when viewing the instrument in the watchlist.

I guess Z has no role to play in this ; MCX has to change the naming , Z can ask them at max

I was wrong , SENSIBULL does show the expiry date in the contract name

Realised it just now

yes…some of the other brokers like AngelOne also provide similar nomenclature.
It will be helpful if Zerodha can also introduce this

Can you help explain why silver, silverm, Gold, GoldM is is both the list: Physical delivery and devolves into futures?

The first table where physical delivery is written represents the futures commodity contracts. The second table where devolves into futures is written is for the option commodity contracts.

You may refer to the support article to know more about devolvement.
