Migration from old pledge to the new pledge mechanism

@VenuMadhav

Trying to pledge using both pan card and demat id but still getting the error message. Having the same problem with both my accounts.

error message “Margin pledge set up is not present for input PAN No.”
error message “Margin pledge set up is not present for input Demat Account No.”

Pls rectify urgently

We’ve just taken the new system live. Once we are comfortable with all the processes in place, we’ll start allowing all approved securities, most likely by this weekend.

Can you try after 1 hour.

unpledge securities - done on last Thursday, 27-Aug-20!

credit it back to the demat - done on on last Thursday, 27-Aug-20!

send a link to authorize the new pledge - still waiting, haven’t got any email from CDSL to authenticate the re-pledge.

When will you be re-pledging the shares back? Any TAT?

Faced a margin call on last Friday, 28-Aug-20 morning. To save the open positions, fulfilled that by adding liquid cash on a very short notice incurring hefty cost. Will any of the Intermediaries take responsibility of the super-imposed cost that I had to bear unnecessarily without me being accountable for?

Called customer service several times, wait time over 15 minutes. Tired of giving patience test any further.
Raised a support ticket too, no reply yet.

More you delay, more it hurts me!

If you have manually unpledged your securities last week , you need to manually pledge them back from Console. You might want to do it before 4.00 PM to get margins by tomorrow.

Like at @sriram998001 just mentioned, you have to manually repledge it again by logging into console.

Can any one tell me that if i go short in intraday and when i have to buy back then also i’ll have to maintain 20% margin in my account?

Thanks for reply!

I did not manually un-pledge, those shares were un-pledged without my consent!

I will not manually re-pledge!

Kindly comply to what you and other admins here stated previously to begin with:

This is going on since June, why I am getting penalized if the intermediaries are incompetent?

This haste makes no sense!

Hmm… I guess you are seeing the thread, no broker was allowed to continue to hold the client security post Sep 1st as per the new regulation. So you consenting or not, it had to be unpledged and transferred back.

Can you message your client ID to @Nakul, he will check why you didn’t get the email from CDSL. Ideally, they should have sent it to you.

No, not needed.

Without POA is it possible to create pledge?
If yes, is there any limit on the pledge amount that can be created for non POA clients?

No, there’s no limit on the pledge value for non poa clients. Pledge will have to be created from Console.

Below page talks about POA requirement for pledge amount greater than 2 lacs per scrip
https://support.zerodha.com/category/your-zerodha-account/your-profile/articles/sell-shares-without-poa

Is this still applicable in the new pledge system?

POA not required… I’ve successfully pledged above 5 lacs worth of shares, without any restrictions. And got the margin the next day. No issues at all. Done it through console. Never submitted any POA.

That link was applicable for older system!

Thanks for the clarification

The best part is (since today), the pledging system is not even asking for the CDSL TPIN anymore.

TPIN is required only for debiting securities from your demat account. In the new pledge system, securities won’t be moving out of your demat account. Hence, the TPIN isn’t required for pledging in the new system.

Can we have the list with full security name plz? Currently it is in short form where it is difficult to identify the mutual fund.
