Migration from old pledge to the new pledge mechanism

I first received a SMS from CDSL at 12:59 with the CDSL link to verify Pledge.
From my phone I clicked on the link.
It took my PAN Number well. It said it could not generate OTP. But it did.
The OTP came at 13:07

By this time, I received email from CDSL (1:09 pm). I also received the email from Zerodha at 1:10 pm. I continued from my laptop. Entered the OTP and after some freeze, it showed the screen asked me to confirm. It finally accepted.

I just thought I could share my experience in case it is helpful to anyone else.

in second attempt i got attempt…but i did not get any confirmation on the screen or via email saying my margin pledge is submitted.

Thanks, have reported/escalated the matter to CDSL. This system is outside our control.

I guess zerodha is causing load on CDSL api

Not just Zerodha, all DPs and brokers; that however shouldn’t be an excuse to not work.

Previously i pledged and got repledged and instruments came to my demat already 1 week back as no fno positions open at that time , waited for new system , is it now clear , can i pledge today and get margins on monday ? ( previously in one post told have to do this regularly pledge and repledge for some days till this month end , does if i do new pledge today have to do this repledge and pledge for 2,3 days till sep 1 ?

I received OTP and I entered OTP but no confirmation on successful completion.

Do we get any acknowledgement for successful pledge ?

Margin pledge set up is not present for input PAN No.

Amit, the shares are in the process of being credited back. Please follow my update one post above. I don’t know what email you’ve received from CDSL. Would you be able to DM/upload a screenshot here after hiding sensitive data?

Once the pledge is setup, you can visit this page: :: Central Depository Services (India) Limited :: , enter your PAN and authorize the pledge. Once the pledge is setup, Zerodha will send you an email, I suggest you wait until then. This will happen by 2.00 pm.

@VenuMadhav Thanks Venu. I have now received Zerodha’s email. The CDSL link is now working and I can see the securities that can be pledged under the new system. But I continue to see the old pledges on Console. The holdings have not been transferred back to my demat as I cannot see them on Kite. This is still a bit confusing. Please advise how to proceed.

Console will be updated later this evening. Please proceed towards authorizing your pledge.

The stocks will show under your pledged holdings on Console. You won’t see them on Kite, since they’re pledged. It’s the same even today.

I am getting below alert before submitting. Does it mean I can not use pledged share as margin in option selling?

What in the disclaimer makes you believe that? Margins from stock pledge will be allowed for option shorting.

Sorry, but I don’t understand your question. Client is only required to pledge. Repledge will be done by the broker.

Sir, please follow updates on the thread. There are other clients who’ve reported this issue as well. This page is CDSL’s, it’s beyond our control. We’ve already escalated the matter to CDSL.

somehere in this new pledging thread i read that if do pledging , you will repledge everyday evening and i have to do again pledge before 7 pm after getting email to maitain the collateral amount for 3,4 days till sep 1 st ?

No, we’ve already gone live with the new pledge system. There’s nothing you’ve to do.
