Volume shakers on moneycontrol shows a list of shares in which there has been a sudden increase in the volume bought and sold compared to its 5 day average.

This sudden pike, makes the traders speculate that some positive news regarding the company is about to surface and more buyers will come forward in the coming days creating a demand and increase in the price of the shares.

it can also be negative news and price may be falling.

You need to look if there has been an increase or decrease in price along with the volume.
INCREASE in volume with an INCREASE in price = good news
INCREASE in volume with a DECREASE in price = not so good news.
