Have 2 queries related to Mothersumi

  • I have few shares of Mothersumi, when its going to be delisted and new shares of alternate company will be credited
  • While investing in a small case, after placing order i observed that the smallcase had mothersumi shares, now as the record date of mothersumi for delisting is 17-Jan. What would happen to the shares which is purchased now

Shares of Motherson Sumi aren’t being delisted from the exchanges. They are demerging their wiring business into a seperate entity and if you we’re a shareholder of Motherson Sumi as of 17th January 2022, you will recieve 1 share of the MSWIL for every shared held of Motherson Sumi.

The shares of Motherson Sumi will continue to trade on exchanges excluding it’s wiring business. While shares of MSWIL will be listed on the exchanges.

So it means if i hold x shares of Motherson sumi dated 17-Jan, i would receive X shares of MSWIL also.

And i assume MSWIL share is not yet listed in exchange, once they list, it would be credited to our demat account

Right.

The shares are not yet listed on the exchanges, should happen in due course. Though the company has already alloted shares of MSWIL to eligible shareholders. You can check the announcement here.
