Kotak converted some my MTF position of a stock to cash and they said its because of ledger balance. They have done this 2-3 times and whenever they do this I’m not able to take any further trade. Does this happen with all brokers who provide MTF or is it just with Kotak.
Just Kotak who does this. I avoid the Kotak and HDFC group like a plague.
you cant use mtf untill you have free cash in your account, which is a good thing. you have to first pledge your holding, and then you can take mtf trades from the margin received from pledged holdings, once your cash is utilized
