Is this normal, I have had shares short delivered but mutual fund units? this was a special day the market was down 6% I had bought for this exact reason.

In case of a short delivery, there is a delay in the credit of units to your demat account, but the NAV of the fund allotment will remain unaffected. The units will be allotted based on the NAV on the day the funds are received by the clearing corporation.
