My friend today told me that on expiry date whether on nse or bse, order cannot be placed beyond 3 p. M. , so that option writers cannot take benefit of the premium, is he correct?

No this is not true. You can place orders (intraday) till 3:20 PM…and CNC / NRML (for next series ) can be placed till the last minute.

Yes, as long as the there is an order match, your order will go through.

@Nishant, CNC orders are not related to expiry date. CNC orders are related to Equity trade, dont get confused. For F&O NRML is the equivalent code. If you are talking about NRML orders, yes, it will work until 3:30 and will execute if it finds a matching opposite order.
