Name convention in death certificate and demat account

I recently came across a situation regarding claiming shares from a Zerodha demat account after the death of an account holder, and I would like to clarify whether the difference in the order of the name could create an issue during the transmission/claim process.

For example, suppose the actual name of the deceased is Ramesh Pongulete. The name in the Zerodha demat account is Ramesh Pongulete (first name followed by surname), whereas the death certificate issued by the local municipal authority records the name as Pongulete Ramesh (surname followed by first name).

Would this difference in the order of the first name and surname be considered a name mismatch and cause any issue in claiming/transmitting the shares?

If it can cause an issue, what is the recommended resolution? would any other document/correction be required?

I am asking this to understand the exact procedure and ensure that my family members are aware of what needs to be done in such a situation, should they ever need to make a claim in the future.

For transmission cases, we can accept the interchange of the first name and second name.

Thanks

Can someone from zerodha staff reply

I have confirmed this with the Zerodha Transmission team.
