New income tax portal

About 2 months have elapsed since the launch of our new IT portal but I see that it’s not allowing me to e-file my returns as it’s showing the options disabled. Are these issues faced by everyone or am i missing something? @Quicko

Even I was waiting for soo long. Yesterday, I accidentally clicked on next button and boom, it was allowing to file itr 1,2,4.

When drop-down is greyed out, it obviously mean it’s not enable yet. They could have made it more intuitive. Totally not worth of 150cr.

Yes the UI is not intuitive and sometimes even misleading
E.g. While entering income from FD and Savings, it asks user to “Enter Exempted Income” at which one can mistakenly enter the exemption allowed.
There is no need to Exempted Income at least in the case of Interest from FD and Savings A/C as same is filling in the previous section so this option should have been pre-popullated and only amount for which the tax payer claiming exemption should be asked to be inputted (I wonder why anyone would want to claim an amount which is less than exemtiom limit i.e.10K or 50K for Senior Citizens?)

@CrownedEagle so it seems you are atleast able to move ahead with efiling…for me it’s all disabled

@CoolBird I think that is bug in portal. Go ahead and select continue (without selecting form type). You will get option to select it later.

Hi @CoolBird

You can just select the Assessment year and click on continue. You will be able to file return and ITR Type will be confirmed on the next page.

ITD is fixing glitches on the new portal everyday and it is expected to work without any hassle soon.

Hope this helps.
