Nifty 50: DIIs Take more stake than FIIs

For the first time ever, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) now own more of the Nifty 50 than Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs).

As of Dec 2025 quarter-end: DIIs → 24.8% FIIs → 24.3%

This never happened before in Nifty 50 history. Last time they had overtook them was in Nifty500 around March 2025.

This is due to:

  • Record SIP inflows + strong domestic MF buying absorbed massive FII selling in 2025
  • Indian capital is increasingly investing and less dependent on foreign money

Feels like this is a positive sign for Indian stocks over the medium to long term.

In the short term, the market may still move up and down but medium and long term expecting it to grow very well.
