I am new to futures trading. I was checking Nifty 17 Feb futures chart and noticed that it shows November, December, and January days. Why is that? I expected it to show only February month days.
You can trade in futures contracts which are maximum 3 months away. Because of this Feb2017 contracts became available for tracing from the very next day after November expiry. Since the Feb contract is being traded since last few days of November, the chart is showing you the days from November, December, January to all the way till feb expiry. Hope it helps!
Feb series started from 25th November 2016 and ends on 23 Feb 2017.
On 24th Feb 2017 May Series will start.
