Nike: Losing Its Edge?

Nike is one of the best sports companies in the world . The brand presence, athletes, and cultural impact have been incredible.

As someone who follows sports closely, the brand has always felt almost untouchable.

But lately, something feels different.

The stock keeps falling, and I’m kinda wondering what exactly is going wrong at Nike?

It peaked at around $179 in Nov 2021. Today, it’s around $40 roughly a 78% fall from the peak.

Is this just a bad phase for the company, or has something fundamentally changed?

Wondering if this is going to be a good price to buy as a long term investor?

Umm… I used to be a hardcore Nike fan. Had a couple of Mercurials and some of their older sneakers.

But honestly, I don’t really prefer Nike these days. Prices have gone up quite a bit, and a lot of homegrown brands have stepped up and are giving them some serious competition in terms of fashion…

That said, when it comes to football boots, I’d still probably pick Nike…

forget about nike, I am worried about HDFC Bank’s edge right now. it has highest weightage in nifty 50, sensex and bank nifty.

Nike is no longer aspirational.
I used to aspire Nike in my young days. Now I am buying more of Asics and aspiring probably ON.
Also, I think new generation is struggling to connect with Nike. today’s role models are hardly seen in Nike

I personally feel Nike’s glory days are behind
