Hi,
I invested in Aditya Birla Credit Risk Fund. I am aware that there’s a credit risk involved in return of higher return. But what’s puzzling is that there’s no information on the source of loss. Given the sudden drop in the NAV, it looks like a default and a pretty big one but I am surprised that neither the fund house nor any media covered it.
Is there a source to see defaults / delays in payment for corporate bond in India? This will also be helpful for investing directing in Corporate Bonds.
These drops also happen when credit rating of underlying asset is downgraded. Check for their holdings at the time and then check for their credit ratings.
I had invested in Franklin India Ultra Short Bond fund back in 2015 to 2020, when there was possible default by Vodafone in 2020 (not sure) they have created segregated portfolio.
ABSL Credit Risk Fund has one
Number of Segregated Portfolios – 1
There was sharp fall and I reached out to RM and he explained why the fall. Suggest reach out to RM or reach out to email id mentioned in emails we receive from cams or Kfintech after units are allocated or monthly email updates.
I think not all bonds mutual funds invest are listed. I use goldenpi for investing in bonds, I reached out to RM a few times.
This is the chart for the 1yr IDCW variant of the fund. There is no default. If you want to check for defaults, then check the chart for the growth variant of the fund. There have not been any defaults in the last 3 yrs.
