Currently not possible to set up based on investment but only based on quantity, but you will get email a day before sip incase if you want to check funds available.
Whatâs unique about MF SIP is that you can invest a fixed amount. But when you are dealing with stocks, you can only buy fixed quantities. So I might have wanted to invest 50k, but end up investing 60k because of higher price. So I will have to adjust my SIP configuration regularly.
This beats the very purpose of an SIP imo, that also into a passive fund.
Suppose I am creating basket of options to buy/sell everyday at a certain time to take positions and link it with SIP feature to execute it a particular time. And then make another basket for square-off positions taken & link it with SIP feature at a particular time. Would this be possible in both the cases?
Yes, you can do this.
Weekly SIP will be a nice option.
Is it possible in zerodha to do SIP in stock for fixed amount monthly.
If not, do i need to increase/ decrease the monthly SIP amount based on the stock price on that particular SIP date.
As the SIP is linked to a basket, It will be based on quantity. Weâre working on the feasibility of fixed-amount SIPs in stocks. The funds available in your trading account will be used to fund the SIPs.
@Bhuvan @nithin Guys, Itâs been 4 years people have asked across this thread for a fixed amount version. It was in the to-doâs until 2023. Letâs do it this year atleast.
Only issue I can see is that you wouldnât know how much to buy for individual scrips in a basket. For this, can we not simply introduce a feature where we add a max amount of sip per scrip in a basket?
Basket 1: 20000
Scrip 1: 5000
Scrip 2: 10000
Scrip 3: 5000
Now, just buy the max amount of shares/units possible in the defined amounts per scrip.
Having to adjust the emandate schedule every month beats the purpose of the automation this utility aims to provide.

Mayank
Yes, we will take this up shortly.
