NSE has again revised the quantity freeze limits for index futures and options, bringing most of them back to the levels that were applicable before October 5, 2026.
| Index | Existing limit | New limit |
|---|---|---|
| NIFTY | 3,510 | 1,800 |
| BANKNIFTY | 1,440 | 900 |
| FINNIFTY | 3,240 | 1,800 |
| MIDCPNIFTY | 5,760 | 2,800 |
| NIFTYNXT50 | 1,125 | 600 |
| NIFTYFPI | 53,900 | 8,500 |
The revised limits will be applicable from November 2, 2026.
NSE had significantly increased these limits from October 5. However, within a month, the exchange has revised them again, bringing almost all indices back to their earlier levels. The only exception is BANKNIFTY, which previously had a limit of 600 and is now set at 900.
This does not change the lot size of the contracts. It only changes the maximum quantity allowed in a single order.
We’ll also update our Autoslice feature to use the revised freeze limits from November 2, 2026.
Circular: NSE/FAOP/77189.
