Hi traders … cn someone pls tell how much margin actually required in zerodha for selling a straddle in nifty in times of volatility whn premiums are arnd 300-400 range? (Want to know real margin utilised which cud be different frm wht is being shown in kite basket order-in kotak, its sometimes 40k more) In morning arnd 9.30 to 10.30am? … on expiry day cn just add 75k extra as 2%? @ShubhS9 @siva

Our baskets are updated with margins from of starting of the day, but exchanges changes margins thrice during the trading time ( 9 to 3.30) but our basket will show margin as of beginning of the day. Most cases there won’t be much difference but if markets are volatile then you may notice small change to actual and basket, said that if you want exact margins one can check our margin calculator here.
