Pledge shares from another DP

Hi Team,

Besides Zerodha, I have an older trading a/c with Aditya Birla Money that is linked to another DP a/c. I would like to leverage the value of shares there to get collateral in Zerodha a/c to trade. Is this possible ? I am not keen to move over that a/c as it is very old but I would definitely like to get margin funding on the same. Kindly let me know.

Not possible,when a customer pledges security as margin for F&O, the securities move to the broker and through the broker to the clearing corporation (SEBI had, a few months back, disallowed these securities from being pledged with NBFCs). Once with clearing corporation, the margins after haircut are provided to the customer.
