Points to breakeven Zerodha

What is Points to breakeven and how to calculate in zerodha https://zerodha.com/brokerage-calculator

Points to Breakeven is calculation of how many points a scrip will have to move in your favour for you to breakeven (ie. make no losses on a trade including brokerage and other charges). Calculation part is tricky as you will have to take various charges under consideration (like Brokerage, STT, Exchange Transaction Tax, GST, SEBI Charges, Stamp Duty) while calculating manually.

@ShubhS9 is there any formula to calculate this and how is the Net P&L is calculated is it Total tax and charges - Points to breakeven or something else

You will have to calculate all the charges mentioned above manually and just divide those by shares you have bought, you will get how many points you need to breakeven.

Net P&L is your Gross P&L - Total Tax and Charges.

It is simple: You made profit of Rs. 50 and total taxes and charges are Rs. 10, so your Net P&L will be Rs. 40.

@ShubhS9 thanks now i am able to calculate the Points to breakeven. I have one more query i entered the following details in the brokerage calculator

Buy 100
Sell 100.50
Quantity 100 and the
Net P&L is 38.83 for the day my Opening balance is 1500
So the new Margin available will be Opening balance + Net P&L or will it add or subtract any additional charges

Margin available will be Opening Balance + Realised P&L, calculation and deduction of all charges is done at the end of the day, not during market hours.
