[POLL][2026-09-29]Where will NIFTY close this month's expiry?

in next 5 years really intrest rate will come down like 4 or 5% if you have money just lock in 2076 bond its giving 7.8%

i always happy buy when yields are high , our life span income we can get

always do bond laddering - so you can get every month

This yield is without accounting for accrued interest?

Anyone tried https://rbiretaildirect.in/

Supposedly this has better liquidity for “on the run” bonds?

But the premiums will be too heavy i guess. So unless Sensex closes at least 400 points I don’t think long straddle or strangles will make money. I am assuming the options are held till CAS is settled.

Last time CAS started at -1300 or something. It gave plenty of opportunity to exit at 2x or more with even a wide strangle.

Liquidity for Higher coupon rate Bonds are really ill- liquid , regretting for selling 83GS2041

What about benchmark bonds? Is it better than NSE?

If you are asking me i don;t know , but i think Bond Market is kind of a dumb and Manipulated one , let me share a screen shot , i just purchased only one unit at around 130 at it shoot up to 140 ,and exited it later , i was so happy at that time that just 1unit of my buying moved the bond price :grinning:

Assuming relatively small number of lots (not in crores),
can check the odd-lot tab of Home Page - CCIL - The Clearing Corporation of India Limited
for recent trades’ LTP, Volumes (click on a row in the table in the above link),

Another potential source is the periodic report published on Market Liquidity Indicators - CCIL - The Clearing Corporation of India Limited.

Note that while sovereign securities held in one’s Demat account can be transferred-in into the RBI Retail Direct Gilt account to participate in the RBI Retail Direct platform, the other way around is not possible might not be always possible. Apparenlty, some brokers may support it with relevant charges. Do double-check if pledging them with one’s broker is of interest.

Can read more about it in the RBI Retail Direct FAQs.

…today (or in recent past).

How to determine desired liquidity will exist when one intends to sell in the future?
(what factors to consider to estimate liquidity of a GSEC at a future date?)

Yes but coupon rates are too low, purchased 74Gs at 97 exited at around 100.5 , not so exciting

Obviously Bid /ASK quantity and the gap between BID/ASK Price also last traded quantity , if it is 1 to 2 ignore it

:joy:
