however if it did crash, longer duration bonds(10,30,40) will lose value immediately. Longer the duration higher the risk: With 1% increase in rates, 30Y might drop 20% and a 10Y might drop 9%. If held till maturity you’ll get what you paid for minus inflation(which might be huge).
