I am noticing, if you buy nearest PE and CE at 3:15 pm, its always making money since last 3 weeks of expiry. For e.g. today if bought 23600 PE (below) + 23700 CE

Too bad option sellers made a mob and is forcing sebi to remove CAS from derivative pricing.
Slowly this will also stabilize
It will become like 3pm move we used to have before.
1 out of 10 times only it will work.
But today both ended in 0.05 na?
Yes need to exit before the indicative closing
Both options combined was ~ 15-20
And jumped to 48-50 at highs. Need to exit at right time.
Last time in sensex expiry if you held till end you made tons but closing before made very little.
Indicative closing has a pattern: Start at one end and then move up/down to the non-cas close. If it starts at bear end, all call options immediately go bust, put options won’t price in the full bear end, but just a little, because it’ll try to come back to VWAP close.
Changed from bull
to kangaroo. ![]()
Target revised from 25k to 23.75k! ![]()
First it was showing 75000 and recover and ended in green.
is there any chance by SEBI or Brokers silently started using previous system !! ![]()
Again Gift nifty down , last one month 1100 points down - only india is like that
others market are ok - we down almost 4% in august
Nah. Since indicative close is visible, option sellers like JS can still pull the market to where they want to be. Sensex thursday CAS would be one sided rather than range bound I think.
In today’s Pre-Market session, Nifty was showing around +200 points at 9:00 AM, but by 9:15 AM it was around -50 points.
I assume such a large variation is common during the price discovery/auction process. However, we cannot trade options during the Pre-Market session.
In my opinion, option trading should also not be allowed simultaneously during CAS.
The reason is simple: during CAS, I don’t think there is enough information available to properly analyse and take a trade. We mainly have the indicative price, and because of the CAS price band, this price can move significantly in a very short period of time.
At that point, trading options starts looking more like betting than actual trading.
Also, by allowing options trading simultaneously during CAS, aren’t we potentially giving an opportunity to participants with very large capital to influence or manipulate option prices?
For example, today the indicative price was around 23,300 at 3:20 PM, but the final closing price was 23,635.
Between 3:20 PM and 3:30 PM, many option contracts moved up by almost 100% and then ended up closing at just ₹0.05.
I’m not saying that this is necessarily manipulation, but I feel the current setup creates a situation where such extreme price movements can happen without traders having enough information to make a proper decision.
Those who don’t want to bet can easily close positions before 3:20. Why participate in last 10 minutes at all? Those who want to can open positions then.
Option premium does not change after or during CAS, only expiry day options are settling according to underlying price.
Next time see monthly options on expiry day.
I’m talking about expiry day options only.
Thats not possible. Option price are decided based on underlying assets.
If nifty close on 24000 and you are holding 23900 CE it is going to closed on 100 rupees. If you have bought it at 1 rupees that is 100x return and if you bought it 200 that is 50 percent loss.
Its should not change just because some people are making 100x.
My point is that options trading shouldn’t be allowed from 3:20pm to 3:30pm on expiry day, settlement can be done based on nifty closing at 3:30pm.
It is okay for people to make 100x if nifty closes at 24K, but with indicative closing, options react to 23800 or 24200 even when nifty doesn’t closes on these levels.
I dont know why operator hits my target in first half of the month.
Same thing happened in August.
Expecting more downside or reversal?
