For today’s expiry, all intraday trades, by mistake I squared off hedged positions first. In evening, got Provisional margin shortfall amount email for Rs 4.9L which is too much.
Wanted to know if any penalty will be charged? If yes how much? I am not carrying any positions overnight since it expiry today only.
This is most likely a case of peak margin shortfall and if that’s the case, the penalty will be borne by Zerodha and won’t be passed onto the client.
If you maintain the balance which covers provisional peak margin, you can ignore the above notification.
