Query on F&O ban stocks

IEX is in BAN PERIOD

The PE (eg 125,130) strikes were created today

How did someone trade it , as we can’t take fresh positions when in BAN PERIOD ?

Someone pls explain

You cannot take a new position but people can exit their existing positions

As per him these are new strikes, so i guess they start with no one having a position in them, so how did we get volume ?

Volume = number of shares traded. It can be existing positions.

It can be existing positions.

These strikes were created today

These stock went into BAN as soon as market opened

How did you confirmed that it was created today?

This confirms that this contract was created today or at least the first trades took place today

This does not confirm anything
Where is it mentioned this are new contracts?

Ok this at least confirms first trades took places yesterday right?

Or should I get NSE’s Chairman attested copy ?:slightly_smiling_face:

Again, this does not prove these are first trades, these can only be existing position trades.
Not sure why you keep saying these are fresh/first days without any proof.

Maybe he means, OI = Change in OI.

Either all OI was created today, or OI was 2x yesterday and exactly half open positions cancelled out, assuming change in OI is always a +ve number.
Can try to check yesterday’s OI perhaps. If its 0, then they seems to be new positions

In that case it was banned later after some trading. I read it was banned on 24th, so must have been banned after sometime when the open interest contracts crossed 95% of the Market-Wide Position Limit (MWPL).

Fair point

But if trades were executed before they should be reflected in https://www.nseindia.com/report-detail/fo_eq_security right

It is being reflected if you select 24th July date. Not sure what you are trying to prove.
It is clear that it was banned later when contracts crossed 95%.

If you still feel something is wrong or is being manipulated, please report it to SEBI

Trying to prove ? ; matlab kuch bhi

The only trades visible were on 24-07-25 ;

Get your sources right bruh
IEX was in BAN PERIOD since 23-07-25 not 24-07-25

It was banned yesterday as it crashed by ~30% due to the news. On every site it says it was banned on 24th and not on 23rd

Anyways, if you think you are right then so be it.

NSE’s Daily Report

Anyways, if you think you are right then so be it.

ok

Now pls don’t say that I edited the DAILY REPORT to prove my point :grimacing:

In that case the data is for the existing positions data

I asked you to report it so SEBI only because you felt trading was allowed in the ban period, nothing offensive. If something is incorrect/being manipulated, it should certainly be reported so that SEBI can investigate and take the corrective action.

One more possibility that I can think of: The ban was reversed on 24th July if the open interest went below 80%, trading happened, again it got banned as the OI shoot up and went above 95% due to the news.

Yes
This might be the answer :+1:

But there is no way to verify as the MWPL is updated EOD
