Reg. AMO / Pre Marker Order

Is there any way to place pre-market order exactly at 9:00:00 AM. I tried placing it via AMO, but it get placed at 9:00:03 or 9:00:08 some times.
So is there any way to place exatly at least with the margin of 1-2 seconds.

It would be tough to place orders at exactly 9 AM or with in a second, it is because of the architecture involved. It can happen but can’t be guaranteed.
Broker connects to exchanges via multiple leased lines, each leased line comes with a capacity, exchanges will have limitations in accepting and processing orders. Even broker has to pass orders through their RMS.

At zerodha we send AMOs first, also their order flow is FIFO, so better try placing AMO for tomorrow today at 4 PM itself. Your order will go in first batch but there can be other factors also effecting it, so one can place early and wish it goes in 1st second, nothing is guaranteed though.

Ok thankyou. will try it.

That’s a good question. I have a related question. Is there any way to place order exactly at 9:15:00 AM

Also, i understand you want to trade in the pre-open market, so i wonder what would be the advantage of placing orders that early.

Exchange provides a random closure in the last minute. Maybe they should also provide a random open through a computer decided time , to make things fairer.

But i would caution you that trading in pre-open is risky. We get unexpected prices.

You can try, but in most cases it can take a second or so.

To be in early queue and to complete a trade.

If you place limit buy order then it can’t trade above that, in case you may get that price or better price.
Also exchange sends likely open price which can be seen on market depth itself.

Why does this happen ?

What happened?

High is 96 but it did not go to 96. I have seen this multiple times in crude oil.

Its a spike we could have checked it with trade checker but MCX trade checker shows coming soon.

All trades happen at exchange end, sometimes charts may not able to capture ticks or we may not able to see it in LTP, more chances of these things happening at open, but yeah if mcx is showing in depth means trade would have happened only.
