no offense taken, i myself contributed to 3-4 ideas for QR login , you may check into this if they are practically feasible or not,
Zerodha, please do NOT add unnecessary permissions to the app for all users unconditionally.
Please make such permissions optional,
that the application requests ONLY if the user attempts to use a feature
that requires such permission/info for a regulatory reason.
Atleast add fingerprint login on desktop then using web authn APIs.
Passkeys support, lot of modern + secure stuff. 2FA code is a headache
This is just a suggestion, but i agree this should not be a blanket condition for all users,
Whole point is allowing QR login for Kite Web
I think a Trusted Device idea seems good if possible, only one time verification can help this.
@Ruchi_Porwal I appreciate that Team Z follow the exchange-provided format and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations. From the breakdown you shared, it’s clear that you’ve put in genuine effort to derive the MTM.
However, as you’d agree from experience, it’s quite difficult to read and interpret the data easily. While the final MTM figure is correct, the presentation makes it hard to follow.
A better approach could be to show all trades—whether brought forward, buy, or sell—together in the “Derivatives” section. This would give a clearer view of the MTM for each script and make the overall note easier to understand.
I’m sure Team Z is open to good suggestions—even those inspired by competitors. In that regard, I’d recommend checking out Kotak Securities’ contract note format, which is more straightforward and transparent.
Will do, we will review if we can make it more simple adhering to regulations.
@siva @nithin In the Positions tab, it currently shows only the total unrealised P&L. Unlike Holdings , it doesn’t show today’s P&L (the change from yesterday). It would be very helpful if today’s P&L is also shown along with the total P&L. This small addition will make it easier to quickly understand if my position is in profit or loss for the day.
We will be reviewing positions tab soon, this is noted, will take more time though.
@siva charts AutoSave when?
It is getting annoying whenever i forget to save default layout i lost all the drawings.
Will take this up soon, few clients don’t want autosave so we will give option to enable/disable autosave.
Great…
Along with this please bring MULTI-CHART LAYOUT & SEARCH on CHARTS features on Mobile APP.
And if it is possible to bring option chain on charts on mobile app like DHAN that will be awesome
Please no mandatory location access. It’s a huge invasion of privacy.
please provide a monthly based bar for pnl … right now it is a grid.
Hi @siva , @Arockiya_Raja
Today’s alert showed this message:
"From the all-new option chain on Kite, to free APIs, to the portfolio performance curve on Console, we’ve been busy improving your trading and investing experience. Check out all the latest updates at Zerodha.”
It mentions “free APIs,” but they don’t include real-time data like LTP.
At the very least, please consider providing real-time prices for portfolio holdings only.
That alone would be a big help.
Thanks .
I think they do give LTP. Just webstreaming API is paid, I think.
Okay, thank you. I haven’t checked out Kite Connect yet since it’s a paid service, but I’ll look into it now. I’m not familiar with coding or programming strategies. Since the Console P&L follows the FIFO method, I created my own portfolio dashboard to track live P&L using ChatGPT and live data from yFinance and streamlit . However, yFinance has stopped providing live data recently. I just saw this alert now, so I wanted to ask.
I’m guessing as well. Official confirmation would be nice.
No real time feeds including LTP will be provided with Free API.
