Risk of Bracket order

Suppose I have to place bracket order, buy price @100 rs, target price @105 rs, stoploss @98 rs,

and stocks current price is 99 rs, i place this bracket order, after this the stocks go down to 98, my stoploss triggered but i dont have any share to be sell because stoploss hits before buying, in this condition what will be ?

Amit, bracket orders (the way it is offered by Zerodha) don’t have an option of using a trigger. What this means is that if market is at 99 and you place a limit order to buy at 100, it will get bought at 99. (In a limit buy order, if you place a limit more than the current market price, it becomes a market order).

So your situation won’t arise practically.

Nitin sir, that means, one can’t trade with the market trend in BO? Pls elaborate a workaround for this. Regards RK
