My POV. If Sandeep Tandon or Ankit Pandey or Sandeep Sharma are personally involved, then that might effect the fund house. Sandeep Tandon has been in the industry for a while now, his track record is clean as of now. Quant has people who have been with Tandon before the acquisition. Definitely questions on governance will be raised if any one who has been long term partner of Tandon is involved.

They always do it, we know it , it’s a competition .
Nothing will happen to the big players . The max SEBI can fine them is rs 1000

Quant MF holdings

Keep an eye on some of these stocks for short term. May see some selling.

Do I need to be worried if I have invested in Quant Mutual Funds ?
If yes, does it matter whichever Quant MF category I am invested in ?

What’s the worst that can happen if the people are found guilty ? What happens to the fund house ? Should investors be worried ?

No need to be worried.

Front running is when fund manager or some employee tries to make profits by entering into stocks before the AMC. And when the AMC buys, price goes up.

Investors are not affected in his case

People responsible will be asked to return profits from their own pockets. They will also be suspended.

No worry to investors. It is more of a ethical concern regarding the fund managers

Too early to make that call yet. Frankly, right now there is only a suspicion nothing is proven nor SEBI has said anything yet. So need not worry yet.

If allegations come true, I would be interested in knowing, who exactly was involved. If it is one of the fund manager, I would worry about it. if it was some low level employee, who is directly not involved in running the fund, then I wouldn’t worry so much.

While there might be some fine to AMC, there won’t be big direct impact on investors. But yes, if one of the fund manager is found guilty, I wouldn’t like to keep my money with them.

I smell vendeta. All of a sudden the best performing fund is ‘suspected’ of front running. Stories are being spread without any concrete investigation. When this happened with Axis, the story spread only after investigation was complete. Also, everyone front runs. Just that the management level guys (and also politicians) do that super smartly from the accounts of non related people or entities. And they know how to hide the trail. If anyone gets caught in this quant fiasco, it will be some mid level dealer.

Yes it’s called news. Journalists report on such things from sources.

Quant also confirmed they’re under investigation.

  • Happened to the Axis fund manager last year? Has that fund recovered, if at all?

  • Any idea if there were heavy or unusual redemptions from the Quant funds today?

What is the latest update on Quant MF front-running allegations ?

no updates from SEBI
