Secondary bank account overwritten in Zerodha console

Has anyone else seen this behaviour on Zerodha when managing secondary bank accounts?

Steps I followed:

  1. Logged in to Console.
  2. Clicked on the Edit option for the existing secondary bank account (without making changes).
  3. Closed that edit tab.
  4. Then went to Add bank account to add a new secondary bank account.

What I noticed: instead of creating a new secondary bank entry, the system overwrote my existing secondary account.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this sequence? I am trying to confirm whether this is specific to me or a wider user base. Please share your experience. Thx.

Though such instances are extremely low, we will look at addressing this in the upcoming updates.

Zerodha have been in denial of this “bug” for a few months now with the same retort as the one you used - of low occurrences. This falls under unauthorized corruption and unintended overwriting of investor’s data. Zerodha might not have a choice but to fix under duress and within a definite timeframe under SEBI’s compliance requirements. I have taken this up with the SEBI SCORES system and it is now with the SmartODR dispute resolution system if you might be aware through Zerodha’s compliance team.
