Sensex Trigger price

Hi Team,

Can someone explain me on the below:

I understand the trigger price and the avg price but what is the other price of 272 means

Hey,

It seems you have placed the buy Stop-Loss order. In Buy SL orders, there’s both a Trigger price and a limit price. Once the market reaches the trigger price, the limit order will be released and executed for the best available price.

Here, you have placed the trigger order with a trigger price of 259.8, and a limit price of 272.8. As the market reached the trigger price, the buy limit order for 272.8 has been placed, but as the best available price at time was 263.54, it got executed for that price.

Sharing a few articles for your reference,

  1. What are stoploss orders and how to use them?

  2. Why was the limit order executed at the market price instead of the specified limit price?
