I want to know how can I transfer shares and mf from other broker to Zerodha via CDSL? I already have CDSL easiest account with DP Name - Zerodha not with the other broker name.
I am not able to create a new CDSL account using BO id of other broker to initiate securities transfer to Zerodha BO ID. Can anyone please guide me how can I create CDSL easiest account using other broker so that I can transfer shares and mf to Zerodha demat account via CDSL?
This is the process for registering for CDSL Easiest using Zerodha account. You’ll have to follow a similar process using your other demat account to transfer shares using CDSL Easiest.
First thing first - I know how to transfer shares via CDSL, already did from Zerodha to another broker.
Now I want to transfer back from another broker to Zerodha account.
My 1st problem is - I don’t know how to see my demat holdings in CDSL which is present with another broker. In my current CDSL login account - I see only Zerodha holdings (since on top in the account DP name is Zerodha) .
Can you please tell me how can see other broker demat holding? I tried 2 ways -

Check if the other broker you are referring to has NSDL as their DP (depository participant). If yes then you will have to fill up the DIS.
To transfer shares from an NSDL DEMAT account to Zerodha DEMAT account, you need to fill up the ‘Delivery Instruction slip’ (DIS) the other broker provides & submit it to them along with a CMR copy provided by Zerodha.

If the DP is CDSL then you need to use the same procedure that you used to transfer shares from Zerodha to this other broker.
In order to do it, first I need to see other broker shares and mf in CDSL holding. I am not able to see that. Any idea how can I see?
I found this from the CDSL Easiest user manual. I haven’t tried this myself but check if this works for you.
Thanks a lot. It worked, now I can see other broker demat holding in CDSL portal.
However it looks like CDSL is not allowing me to upgrade this 2nd demat account to easiest (my first demat account is already easiest). Probably first I need to downgrade my first broker demat account from easiest to easi, but unfortunately couldn’t find such option as well.

Yes, you can by selecting the option ‘Upgrade BO ID to e asi est’, in your easi account login. However, you may have to check with your DP if they have subscribed for the e asi est facility.
Please check with your DP if they subscribed easiest option for their users.
Is there way to downgrade CDSL easiest account to CDSL easi?
Yes this option is available in CDSL.

What should a BO do who is registered for easiest facility and wish to have only easi (view) rights and not wish to continue easiest facility?
A BO who does not wish to continue with the easiest facility, and wish to have only easi facility, can downgrade his/her easiest login to easi through ‘Reassign login to easi account’ option available in the login.
The request of BO for downgrading easiest login to easi has to be authenticated by the DP. The BO can continue set up or upload of transactions from his/her easiest login till end of the day on which DP authenticates the BO’s request.
