What if I short sell a stock for qty 100 Bharti Airtel and forgot to square off at day end.

Will any penelty will be leived on me

It shall be auto squared off by RMS at 3 20 PM in case of MIS at Market price.

No but there will auto square off charges

There may be two scenarios:

  1. RMS will square off your positions at 3:15-20PM or even earlier at Market price. Auto-square off charges applicable by the broker.

  2. If no sellers are available during the auto square-off (for illiquid or low liquidity stocks), exchange will square off your transaction from the auction market at upto +20% of the LTP.

In both the cases, you will be charged extra.
