Have following questions about nomination form.
If nominee is not minor - do you still need witness details and signature ? I believe witness is required only if nominee is minor …but correct me if I am wrong.
Instead of sending a courier - can we send it online?

The witnesses are still required, guardian details are not required as the nominee is not a minor.
Currently, only physical request forms are accepted. We are working on flow for the online nomination, that would require the account holder and two witnesses to complete the esign of the request. We will announce this once ready.
For nominee - Mobile no./email id / proof of ID is required?

If yes can a neighbor couple (husband and wife) become witness ?
I am asking because they have same last name and same address …will that be ok?

Right.
You can have anyone from your family members or friends as witnesses, no issues.
So when a client opened account online - and he /she adding nominee for the first time -
As you are adding nominee for the first time, you do not have to provide Account Modification Form, you will only have to submit Nomination Form, also there will be no charges,

A guardian in a minor’s demat account can be either a natural guardian (mother or father) or a legal guardian appointed by a court, even if they are not a family member, as long as the nominee is a natural person and at least 18 years old.

Yes, it is possible to add a foreign national as a nominee to a demat account.
