Speculative loss from intra-day trading

I have a speculative loss of a couple of hundred rupees from two intra-day trades in shares. If I do not want to carry forward this loss, is it still mandatory to report it income tax return and I shall have to necessarily file ITR-3 next year.

It is optional. As it is only couple of hundred rupees - you can ignore it.

However it is suggested to declare and carry forward it.

Hi @snsinha,

It is always advisable to report all your profits/losses when filing your ITR. However, when there are only a couple of trades in intraday, usually taxpayers report them under the head Income from capital gains when filing their Income Tax Return.
