Stock transfer from Other demat to Zerodha

Hi,

I want to transfer stocks from Kotak to Zerodha demat account. I have few queries:

  1. Charges for the same by Kotak and Zerodha?
  2. In zerodha holding, will it show by original buy price or buy price will be reflected as the price at the time of transfer
  3. How i will calculated long term gain if it doesnt show the correct buy price?
  4. TIme taken for transfer. Zerodha is CDSL and Kotak is NSDL.

Regards,
Manoj

  1. kotak DP from where you want to remove shares will charge as per charge list which must have been supplied to you while opening the account. the removal charges are per instruction and normally a fix charge say 15 rs plus 18 % gst per instruction for market trade but since this will be off market, charges may differ.if quantity of shares is large and /or number of scrips(instructions) are many it is advisable to ask the kotak dp for such charges. if you close the kotak dp and transfer all the holdings to another dp there is no charge .Zerodha or any dp where shares will be credited will not charge .
2 & 3 .buy price or sell price for TAX purpose has to be broker contract note specific and not as shown by the dp .may be you have to manually feed some data and make a statement.
  2. the transfer should be done by next working day in normal course and same day is also possible on payment of some extra charges .
