Say i want to transfer shares from different broker to zerodha .Is it easier or the old broker is going to delay the process of transferring from his account to zerodha for whatever reason

Hi,
My broker says bgse is responsible for transferring holding from existing demat holding to zerodha. Also asks for fee.

Is it best to sell all the holdings and close it.

No. BSE is not reponsible for transferring holdings from existing to new broker. Its Depositories who transfers your shares from on broker to another and also old broker can do the same. All you have to do is give him trading and demat closure Form with CMR of ZERODHA which is sealed and signed Physically. You can raise a ticket to demand the same with zerodha. Fill information in closure form with CMR copy. They will close it within 3-5 Days.
