hey, should I increase my stoploss points in options buying, as we are in high volatile market currently?
If you do, reduce the number of trades proportionately.
any other answers?
It really depends on the option you’re trading. Sensex options have become extremely difficult lately, with 1-minute candles swinging 50–100 rupees. The only practical way to manage this kind of volatility is by reducing position size.
By the way, what stop-loss percentage are you using right now?
In my experience, stop-losses work well for option selling strategies, but not for option buying. This is consistent across both my backtests and live trading. With option buying, entries are rarely perfect, and stop-losses often end up stopping you out of trades that would have turned profitable later in the day. Instead, proper position sizing is a more effective way to manage risk and protect capital.
In Options Trading, better to keep Stop Loss at 15% and Target - 1% to 2%.
