Tax on Gains from Rights Entitlement?

@Jason_Castelino Does gains from sale of rights entitlement is treated as capital gains(stcg) ? As we know that rights entitlement ususally doesnt have validity of more than a month.
Or will it be taxed as per slab rate?

@nithin i hope this investment work well for you bcoz quicko management doesn’t care about client acquisition and their queries at all. I posted the same question on qna.tax too but didnt got any reply from quicko team. A quick look at that forum shows how inactive the quicko team is there, they haven’t replied to any single post since last 20days. I guess they should close the forum bcoz it is not adding any value.

Yes. Cost of acquisition = NIL.

Edit: taxation will be a normal rate for stcg.

So it will be taxed at slab rate , thanks for the info i was confused about this bcoz on lot of websites like kotak neo and zerodha it is mentioned that it will be taxed at stcg flat rate of 20%. Below image is from zerodha website (Rights Issues and Rights Entitlements (RE) - FAQs)

@nithin @siva i guess zerodha should update that FAQ page bcoz this should not come under 111A inspite of paying stt bcoz
