Taxation of Capital Gains of Salaried and Non-Salaried Individuals

There is salaried employee falling under 30% tax slab bracket and his wife is a homemaker.

Both of them invest in stocks and generate good returns of nearly 4 lakhs profit each per account. How would they be taxed exactly in terms of percentage (%)?

Also, how would HUF help them to save tax?

@Quicko

Hey @Raj_Kalaria,

In case of profits from stocks, the gains are taxed at a special rate and not as per the slab rate. Hence, even if you are falling under the highest tax bracket, the gains would be taxed at a flat rate of 10% (LTCG) and 15% (STCG) for both you and your wife.

Moreover, here’s a video on: How HUF can help save taxes?

Hope this clarifies.
