Taxation of EBBETF (bharat bond)

Zerodha tax pnl shows bharat bond profits as LTCG / STCG. However , new rules say that debt funds will be taxed as per slab rates ( for less than 3 years holding ). Symbols : EBBETF0431 , EBBETF0433

So i believe the tax pnl given by zerodha can be misleading / wrongly calculated. How to get the accurate tax pnl report ? ( also answer for REITs as well, like mindspace , embassy office park and GOLD ETF )

Just replied to this on other thread too.

Even after new rule concept and definition of Capital gains remains same and earning from debt funds is still called capital gains. What has changed is only Tax rate for capital gains from debt funds as follows
Debt capital gains and equity capital gains were always to be treated differently and never to be combined.

In ITR you still need to show capital gains from equity and debt fund separately in relevant sections (as before) and correct computation of tax will be done.

Hope this helps.
