Imagine if the company had rebranded their mission statement to say, “For every 5 shoes sold, we give 1.” This approach might have encouraged customers to purchase in larger quantities, both for themselves and as gifts, or even inspired groups of friends to buy together.
While this strategy was likely considered and possibly dismissed for various reasons, still not as good as the “One for One” model.
