Due to aggressive solar push by MODI Govt, prices of solar power dropped to Rs 2.5/- per unit. This put burden Thermal Power companies who don’t have any PPA with State Discoms. State Discom are now a days avoiding buying power even if there are PPA citing high cost. This is putting big risk for entire power Thermal Power companies.

Thermal plants are operating at 55% currenly and would be able to meet future demand. New and pending power plants will create another round of NPA mess for Banks.
