Things we’re reading today: Dezerv’s ₹10K crore milestone, NBFCs' profit challenges, Prosus’ $50M Jar funding, and more… 10th Dec 2024

Dezerv, a tech-driven wealth management firm, has surpassed ₹10,000 crore in AUM, growing 8x since 2022, and aims to hit ₹25,000 crore by 2025. Founded in 2021, it offers AIF, PMS, and distribution assets, serving HNIs from companies like Amazon and Google with data-driven strategies and tech-led execution.

New-age NBFCs saw declining or flat net profits in Q2 FY24 despite rising revenues due to higher borrowing costs and expenses. Kreditbee’s profit fell 20% to ₹20.7 crore, while Fibe’s remained flat at ₹12.4 crore. Borrowing costs rose 125–300 bps, impacting fintechs serving unsecured consumer loans, as lenders tighten funding and regulators push for stricter practices.

Prosus is set to lead a $50M funding round for fintech startup Jar. This marks Prosus’ third major fintech deal in India this year, following investments in Mintifi and Vastu Housing Finance, and signals continued confidence in the Indian market despite setbacks like Byju’s.
