It’s getting harder every day with the new ways scammers are trying to fool people. We often think scams mostly target the elderly, but that’s no longer true. The number of scams we are seeing lately is unbelievable. Digital arrests, fraudulent impersonation, fake banking and trading apps, and those endless advisory groups on WhatsApp and Telegram promising high returns.
One of the wildest scams I read about was when scammers set up a fake SBI bank with fake job offers and training sessions, tricking people into paying huge amounts for jobs that didn’t even exist. It shows just how far scammers will go to take advantage of people’s trust.
@nithin often tweets and posts about these kinds of frauds, and honestly that is the only way we can spread awareness. It is so important to talk about this with friends, family and especially our parents so everyone knows how cautious we need to be.
Here is our effort, a video that explains one such scam, the quick phone call trap.
This scam involves scammers asking to use your phone for an emergency call, but in seconds, they will steal OTPs and drain your bank account.
Do watch the video and stay alert. Share this with your friends and family.
Stay aware. Stay cautious.
