Trading both equity and commodity

Hello,

My zerodha account is linked with orbis, but I do not trade options anymore.

I want to trade both equity and commodity futures. So what is the fastest way to transfer funds between equity and commodity back and forth once a particular segment is traded ?

@siva-reddy Can you help ?

Hey Sam, this would require migrating back to Zerodha. Best if you create a ticket at support.zerodha.com. We’ll have someone from the Orbis department reach out to you.

Can funds be moved between equity and commodity? I thought it had to be withdrawn back to the bank and then transferred again.

You’re right. One cannot directly transfer money from the equity segment to commodities and vice versa. We’ve explained this here.

Okay, so funds transferred through netbanking are instant if my account is with zerodha and not orbis ?

So if say I traded equity segment on Monday, and after closing on wednesday, say at 11am, I want to transfer the funds to commodity segment ? So how much time it should take for withdrawing funds to bank account and adding to commodity account via my net banking ? Is there a waiting period ? @nithin

Withdrawal requests in equity segment are processed at 8:30 PM and funds will be credited to your primary bank account within 24 hours. Explained here.

Once the funds are credited to your bank account, you can instantly transfer these to your Commodity account, either through UPI or Netbanking using Payment Gateway on Kite.
