TradingView - Trade From Chart (TFC) Beta Now Live!

@siva Any update on this or ETA.

Will take sometime, no ETA.

@siva @nithin_kumrr @Meher_Smaran

Some data mix up in chart

Just took a position in CRUDEOIL JUN 4900 PE , as you can see it is showing +10400 which is horrendously wrong

These are my other positions in CRUDEOIL ; This might help to pinpoint the cause

Pls solve this glitch

The issue is same in other MCX products also

We checked this with a couple of MCX positions. It seems fine to us. We will investigate further and contact you if we need any further information. Thanks for taking the time to report this.

I have send the screen recording of the order window issue in Zerodha to [email protected]. Today 1 took 2 limit orders. The Next order when we open the order it is again opening with market order and advanced view enabled??? I think this is due to Market Protection being enabled?? I have requested several times in your forum regarding this but Zerodha is not listening.

Moreover as you can see dragging the order window is very slow and sluggish. Sometimes even if we close the order window it stays open requiring another close. Lots of Bugs. Please view the screen recording and inform it to your developers.

Can you send to [email protected]?

Email send with screen recording.

I referred to the video. These buy and sell buttons are not the same as the B and S visible on Market Watch, which remembers the previous order type. This is a market order button, so this will always open the market order and overwrite the previous selection. On hover (screenshot below), we can see it.

If you wish to open a limit order window, you need to keep the crosshair at the price at which you want to place it and click the limit order displayed in the drop-down menu so that the limit price will be prefilled; you do not need to enter it. Not filling the price manually is one of the main use cases of TFC to make order placement faster.

The order window is normally fine, but when the chart is open behind the order window, I can see the lag. We will try to look into it next week.

I think this is not correct. Clicking Market Watch Sell Button too opens with Market Order and it is not remembering the previous action. You are silent about Market Protection being enabled and I think this is the reason for the said issue. Did you try it with Market Protection Enabled??? Did you notice the order window always open with Advanced Mode Enabled??? (As Market Protection is for limit orders)

That is the reason why I suggested that an order window configuration would be ideal solution. For other brokers we can click the chart button and it will open with limit order, if it is configured so.

Not filling the price manually is one of the main use cases of TFC to make order placement faster.

What about slippages for market orders ??? Not a good solution in my opinion.

The order window is normally fine, but when the chart is open behind the order window

How is it possible otherwise??? Order window will always open above chart??

If you previously selected market protection while placing a market order, the same will be remembered here. If market protection is enabled, advanced mode will be opened by default to indicate that you have selected a market order. If you unselect market protection once and close the advanced mode, it will not be opened again.

That is meant for market orders; traders can use it if they want. It is not forced. There is a way to place a limit order. This is the standard TV TFC design, not ours.

When there is a limit order button separately to pick the price automatically, why does the person need to click the market order?

You would not see it when you are on the order book, dashboard, or positions pages. This has been discussed internally, and we will try to address it shortly.

@Arockiya_Raja @siva
As informed to you earlier usually I place Limit orders for entering positions and exit sometimes with market orders. reason why i have enabled Market Protection. But in the cramped chart layout of Zerodha, order window opening with Advanced Mode Enabled is more of a nuisance.

As informed to you earlier with screenshot other brokers do provide an option to configure Order window, along with additional options to choose both % and absolute values for stoploss as some other user was pointing out. They are also using TV charts.

It is up to Zerodha to decide. I am talking from the point of view of a trader.

Why zerodha is always on Amol Palekar mode? Same pale faded * illegible * text, try to be too cool n aesthetic and kill the main objective.
Some people like Govinda also.
Some people Sometimes like Amol Palekar and Some times Govinda.

Some people like David Dhawan movies but not like Jhon woo movies.
Some people like John woo movies
Some people like Andrei Tarkovsky some like Satyajit Ray
Some don’t like either.

Oh my beloved Zerodha, why don’t you understand the thing called “Choice”.

Especially, when the code is free and only few lines give you so much more love.

We completely understand that different users have different preferences. While we do consider flexibility, we’re also mindful that introducing too many customisation options can lead to a cluttered and complex platform, which would go against the very simplicity that many users value in Kite.

That said, we’re continuously evaluating how to strike the right balance between usability, accessibility, and design elegance. Your feedback helps us in that process, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share it.

For those simplicity only users, just add a button called “Kite Lite”.

That would be nothing but all the checkboxes unselected which an advanced user get to use.

How long to wait

I always use BUY SL or BUY SL-Limit orders to enter long positions, usually placed above the current price — for breakout entries.

But in some cases, the price drops 3–4% within a minute, which goes sharply against my small stop-loss percentage (I use SL-Market for stop loss)

Idhar main Stop Loss lagate rah jaata hoon, udhar price game baja ke chali jaati hai.

So, what I want is the ability to place the initial Stop Loss along with the Entry

Or better, you can provide drag-and-drop Stop Loss placement on the TFC that would help too.
Whatever you do, please don’t take too long.

We are working on these but will take some time, can’t give exact ETA.

Hey @siva

There is no need for TV when everything on kite is working really nice.
Few feature will make everyone just stick to kite instead of asking for TV i think are as below.

  1. Scroll through charts one after another from watchlist. Currently cant do it
  2. Import/Export watchlist (Just see watchlist pro extention you will get some inspiration on how you can add the functionality to kite Watchlist Pro for Zerodha Kite - A chrome extension that brings advanced watchlist to Kite)
  3. Tags for script in watchlist. If i have 100 stocks in watchlist i want to filter 10 stocks based on some colour tag there is no option. I have to add it to one more watchlist.
  4. Default wathlist provided under discover dividing stocks to differnt sectors when they are in multiple sector i think. You need to fix this. For example if i add auto stocks from discover ashokley going under capital goods.
