TradingView - Trade From Chart (TFC) Beta Now Live!

For Intraday MIS it is missing, he must be talking about that.

for MIS its not available. this feature is absolutely necessary. traders can’t waste crucial time during trading hours for setting SL & Target manually when zerodha can simply provide this option for MIS as well. I hope zerodha will implement this without any delay and make trading smooth & hassle free.

Yes, we are working on it, will take sometime.

Why does it take so long for Zerodha to launch new features? or work on something, I see that Dhan is launching big features every week or two.
something significant

not talking about stability/simplicity here so if someone want to jump onto that please don’t

It happened to me as well. After the new Marketwatch and TFC update, Kite has been using a lot of resources—sometimes even exceeding 1–2GB of RAM. I’ve already shared the screen recording with @Arockiya_Raja

For me it’s been happening since 2-3 years…

That’s Nov 2023, earlier the issue manifested over 3-4 hours but lately it’s a differnt case. And after spending a Lakh on new hardware I expect everything to be fluid, which is not the case. Tradingview charts never have a problem plotting the chart even after some network lags but Kite charts struggles all the the time like lost candles, dashes etc on different tabs (I have disabled efficiency mode, memory saving on inactive tabs etc on chrome)
The issue is with Zerodha’s kite coding, how it’s handles cache memory etc. Because restarting the browser solves the issue and earlier I used RAMcahe or some software to clear the cache memory which solved the issue but it was no differnt than just closing the tabs and reopening them again (close the tabs on one screen and reopen them again, repeat for the other screen, save’s the trouble to log in again).

Zerodha has been fully remote since COVID, which may be a minor reason for the delay of a small update, now extended from days to months.

We’re investigating this on our end, and I’ll get back next week. In the meantime, when you notice the lag, could you please check and share the memory usage of that specific browser tab? I believe you’re using Chrome—have you had a chance to try Firefox or Edge? Are you facing similar issues on those browsers as well?

In the earlier report, it appears the issue may have been mixed up with another volume update problem, which was resolved in the following weeks.

We haven’t made any changes to candlestick plotting on Kite, and this behaviour isn’t related to browser cache. If there’s a drop in internet connectivity, candles may miss data during that time. Reloading the chart will fetch the historical data again.
If this issue occurs frequently, we recommend raising a support ticket so we can investigate your specific case.

The core team started coming to the office at the end of 2023.

Will share the same at EOD tomorrow.

Happens in Kite in most days. If there are 2-3 tabs open and I go to an inactive tab after 15-20 min there are just - ---- Doesn’t mean I have lost internet connectivity. Also as mentioned earlier I have disabled memory saving etc in chrome.

Can’t you do something like tradingview, which I think automatically refreshes when connection resumes.

This is 9:20 AM. Everything is fine.

This is 10:39 AM. Charts are no longer usable as UI is extremely laggy.

Here’s individual tab memory usage.

Here’s task manager if you want a look.

We’ve observed that Brave consumes more memory than Chrome or Firefox. We’re still digging into this and will keep you posted with any updates.

Thank you so much for the details.

Do you usually keep the order window open for extended periods? If the order window is left open on the pop-up chart for 45+ minutes, you notice lag when moving it. However, if the order window is closed and then opened after 45 minutes, the lag doesn’t occur. Can you confirm if this matches your experience?

Lagging involves moving the order window or chart functions, which are also affected by actions like changing the time frame or applying indicators.

We do this on the app. When a chart is left open in the background and the app is reopened, we trigger a refresh to fill in the missing candles. As I recall, the web has some limitations around this behaviour. I’ll verify the details and get back to you.

No. 3-4 min max while placing or modifying orders.

It doesn’t make a difference, after 30-45min the charts are slow irrespective of this.

My default chart is 1 min. I very rarely change time frame during intraday. I can deal with the laggy chart but during this time if I open the order placement window then it’s very slow to function, changing order quantity/price is very slow. Only solution is close the open chrome window and reopen close tabs again. But there are times when literally seconds matter and this entire process sucks…

Understood. I will get back with a further update next week.

When can we expect the option to place and modify GTTs, and add alerts on the chart?

Also, a bit off-topic, but when will trailing SL be added to GTT?
And the new basket feature is still missing in the Kite app, it’s quite inconvenient.

  1. Percentage Stoploss for MIS is extremely necessary. Please do this ASAP.
  2. Option to set defaults for Quantity & Stoploss percentage in Settings during Instant Orders. (All Instant orders should be placed with pre-set quantity & percentage stoploss).

Work in progress, too early to give a timeline.

This may take some time, as there are a few other priority tasks related to the chart in progress.

The native option chain will be available on the app in a week, and this feature will be included in the next patch after the option chain.

Work in progress.
