What are the charges for transferring securities from one demat to another through CDSL Easiest ? (Transferring in self demat only).
The charges to transfer shares in an off-market transaction are 0.03% of the transfer value or Rs. 25, whichever is higher. You (transferor of the shares) will also have to pay stamp duty at 0.015% on the consideration amount to CDSL on their platform. Explained here.
so ; online (easiest) on -market ; transfer is FREE ?
“off-” is not termed as offline.
Off-market transfer means trades which are not settled by Clearing Corporation (CC) of Exchange.
Off-market transfer can be done online (via Easiest) or offline (DIS), used for transfer securities from one account to another account without CC.
On-market transfer means CC is involved, in other words, it is when you buy or sell shares in trading session.
Does this apply to self transfer also (as there is no consideration amount) ??
Just to clear for other readers, stamp duty arises only in case of transfer to someone else’s demat and not in self transfer.
@ShubhS9 @VenuMadhav @Bhuvan - can you confirm in case of self transfer (own account with other broker) there is no payment of stamp duty ? i.e. there is no additional step for transfer for stamp duty?
