Transfer of demat account from IL&FS to Zerodha

My friend has demat account in IL&FS and wants to close it and open account in Zerodha. Is there a possibility that he can transfer his demat account from IL&FS to Zerodha in single process at Zerodha?

If your friend has existing trading account with Zerodha which is mapped with ILFS, we have explained the process here.

If your friend doesn’t any trading account with Zerodha.

  1. Open trading and demat with Zerodha. - click here
  2. Once the account is opened, download CMR copy - click here
  3. Provide CMR copy to ILFS and ask them to process Closure cum transfer for the ILFS demat account.

They will transfer all the holding to Zerodha DP and close the ILFS demat.
