I have bought the G sec Goi Loan 9.15% 2024 (915GS2024) for pledging to get margin for FnO trading.
However I am not able to pledge this G sec as I dont see this scrip in the screen where I see eligible shares for pledging.(broker: upstox).
Do anyone know why am I not able to pledge this g sec?
Did you ask that broker?
Check if it’s in the eligible securities list for pledging or not
We think that alomst all g sec are pledged, but not the case… Tue instrument should be listed on pledge list… Mostly illiquid instrument wont be eligible for pledge.

I am thinking of buying some fresh issues of gsec.
But since the list is updated once a month, it will be available for pledging after a month. and the capital will be blocked.
But can someone tell me if every new fresh issue can be pledged after a month or there might be some which cannot be pledged.
The securities that can be pledged is decided by the Clearing Corporation, so far they have approved all the G-Secs, so you should be able to pledge any new issues once approved.
